This summer, I've discovered a fantastic local spot at Lydden Hill Race Circuit. Better known for its motorsport heritage, it also offers something many remote workers, consultants, and business owners are constantly searching for: a relaxed environment, reliable mobile signal, good coffee, and plenty of space to think.
When I need to step away from the laptop, there's a bonus — a full walk around the circuit. At just over a mile, it's the perfect opportunity to clear the mind, stretch the legs, and return to work with renewed focus. And in this current heatwave, a fabulous breeze blows down through the valley around Lydden Hill. Why sweat behind a desk when you don't have to?

The Food Bay is open weekdays throughout the summer from 10:00–15:00.

About Lydden Hill Race Circuit
Founded in 1955, Lydden Hill is one of only two FIA-grade motorsport circuits in Kent and holds a unique place in British motorsport history as the venue that hosted the world's first ever Rallycross event in 1967. The circuit is compact and characterful — a little over a mile of mixed-surface tarmac set into a natural bowl of Kent countryside, with the Downs rising on the horizon and a genuine sense of place that few working environments can match.

Morning Walkies — The Circuit Route
The circuit walk has quickly become a highlight of a Lydden Hill working day. At 2.67km with a gentle 33m of elevation, it takes around 43 minutes at a comfortable pace — enough time to decompress between calls, work through a problem on your feet, or simply enjoy being outside somewhere genuinely special. Trigger, as ever, had strong opinions about the tyre wall signage.
